Endon High School has specialist facilities required to meet the demands of the National Curriculum in every subject.
Pupils use the school library/research centre during the day and particularly during their lunch break and after school. All pupils are allowed to borrow books on their personal library ticket. The library is equipped with 24 PCs, which are all connected to the Internet, for research and completion of coursework. We have developed a stock of audio and videotapes and CD ROMs. Pupils are encouraged to stay after school to use the library facilities for homework.
The school's status as a Mathematics and ICT Specialist School leaves us well placed to take advantage of technology to enhance learning, across the curriculum. In addition to the network of PC's in our four computer rooms, each classroom benefits from a data projector and interactive whiteboard. All teachers have a laptop computer, which is used for teaching in conjunction with the interactive white boards and data projectors. There are additional computers in individual departments, available for pupil use.
The network has recently been upgraded with new servers and all in one PC's. In addition to the four computer rooms, which are all are Internet linked; as well as being available during timetabled lessons, pupils can use the computers in their own time, for the completion of class work and coursework for GCSE.
Pupils are able to connect to the school's network, whilst at home,to complete school assignments within their own learning areas. All teachers, support staff and pupils have E-mail addresses, so that work can be e-mailed to pupils and teachers, via the school's intranet.
